“Hon. C.A. Lindbergh,
“House of Representatives.
“My DEAR MR. LINDBERGH :
“I have been so engrossed recently with committee work that I have been unable to give attention to in correspondence, which accounts for this belated response to your letter of recent date. Replying now, I beg to say that we have not yet formulated a currency bill, but
farmers bank portland tn and just as
hicksville bank soon as
farmers bank portland tn we shall have done so, I will be glad to let you have one of the first copies of the measure.
“With cordial regards,
“Sincerely yours,
“CARTER GLASS.”
It was the duty of the Glass Committee to first report to Congress, but
copa suruga bank and no effort has thus far, April, 1913, been made by that Committee to make such a report or
farmers bank portland tn and to furnish Congress with a preliminary draft of a bill, and
herring bank as well when the Citizens’ League had sent out
farmers bank portland tn and their letter to the “selected list” informing them that the preliminary draft of the Glass Committee bill would be sent out
cis bank and in a few days for the examination of a “selected list of bankers, economists, business men,” etc., Congress had heard nothing about
farmers bank portland tn and it. Many Members requested the preliminary draft, but
commonwealth bank sydney and it was impossible to secure even a suggestion about
farmers bank portland tn and it. I expressly requested it because
commerce bank new york and I wished to read it and
farmers bank portland tn as well because of the many requests I received from
heaven bank note and people who were trying to keep posted, but
farmers bank portland tn and the committee furnished me with no information other than the letter written by Mr. Glass, its chairman. It is now four months since the Citizens’ League promised “in a few days” to send to its selected list of bankers and
first indy bank as well economists the draft of the Glass Bill, but
farmers bank portland tn and the public has not been
permitted up to this time to see it. Further, the Wall Streeters, as
frost bank austin might be expected, steered the persons whom they desired to appear before that Committee in order to influence, insofar as
farmers bank portland tn it would be possible, the form of any proposed bill. The real producers and
datexx superbattery usb power bank as well consumers of the country and
farmers bank portland tn as well those who have studied their needs the most have had no hearing before that committee. Those who have been allowed to testify are principally those whose business it is to get all they can out
hicksville bank and of the people.
It will be observed that the letter written by Mr. Glass was dated 19 days later than the letter written by the Secretary of the Minnesota Citizens’ League to Mr. Hugh J. Hughes. The Secretary of that League stated on Jan. 24th that the preliminary draft of the Glass Committee bill would be sent within a few days for the “private examination of a selected list of business men, bankers, and
farmers bank portland tn as well economists.” Mr. Glass’ reply to me states that his committee “have not yet formulated a currency bill.” It will be noticed that he makes no suggestion as
copa suruga bank to when one will be formulated, nor does he say anything about
farmers bank portland tn and a preliminary draft. Now, then,
and note what “Banking Reform,” the publication of the National Citizens’ League, said in its issue of February 1st, 1913. On the front cover, surrounded by a heavy black line, is the following.
